History of Chromania

The story of Chromania has its origin in the year 1990 in Switzerland when the then 16-years-old Marcel Hintermann developed the basic concept. He asked his schoolfriend Stephan Widmer to draw the graphics for a color mixing game called Mix Master. Mix Master was programmed in Assembler for the Commodore Amiga, the then state of the art affordable multimedia computer. He sent it in 1991 to a computer programming competition and won a publishing contract.

After Marcel Hintermann had finished his studies in Physics he firstly worked as a teacher and made some thoughts in a holiday trip in 2002 about the advancements in the computer graphics development. He thought about a remake of the former Amiga game and developed the concept several steps further. Most part of Chromania was programmed in the summer and autumn of 2003. The progress slowed due to a lack of time. In 2004 and 2005 we had all music tracks and SoundFX ordered as well as the translation into other languages. It was finished!
